Biography

I first began therapeutic work as an Occupational Therapist in Adult Mental Health. Over the 16 years I worked with the NHS, I was head of a team in a large community day hospital, as well as working in community outreach and in-patient settings. During this time I also did initial training in family therapy and group and individual analytic work.

I am now in the later stages of my training as an integrative therapist and have worked amongst other things with people with depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, bereavement, parenting and relationship issues.

I also have a particular interest in trauma work with refugees and asylum seekers. Working initially in London at the Freedom from Torture Foundation and currently in Gloucester with the charity GARAS (Gloucester Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers).
Locally I have worked as a volunteer at Cotswold Counselling in Cirencester.

I am amazed by the richness that emerges through open enquiry in the therapeutic process. I strongly believe that whether you come with something specific or have a less tangible discomfort, being with someone in a relationship of warmth, empathy and sometimes challenge can lead to both helpful insights and deeper changes in your personal life.

My fees start at £20 and are negotiable.
